Nightlife in Laos

Lacking the hedonistic nightlife of Thailand and Cambodia's overt 'bachelor's paradise' on a budget, Laos seems to do things it's own way.

The only bars are in Vietiane tend to be restaurant combination affairs. In fact the whole night 'scene' here is a far cry from Thailands, Cambodia's or even Vietnams!
Anything like this is either non-existant or heavily-run by the government. Everything tends to close at midnight and is enforced by the Laos police, curfew style!
