Night Life In Hat Yai

Hat Yai is a small city that has a trend towards catering to the Southern Thailands population and visiting Malaysian tourists. As such the girly bars, go-gos etc that are the trend eslewhere are not really to be found once you reach Hat Yai.

The night-time venues in Hat Yai are very clean-cut in appearance from the outside. Once inside you are presented with a more 'hostess' style arrangment in which you get the drinks and the company. Speaking Thai is a must though as most hostesses cannot speak a word of english. The bars and clubs tend to either be either a serve yourself at the bar or a hostess-style bar-restaurant. Some good live music bars scattered about the city.

Hat Yai and Beyond...

For the roaming traveler this city gets a bit boring unless you have things to do here. If you're on the way south then the border hell-town of Sungai Kolok awaits!

Nightlore: Forget the sandles, shorts and T shirts here. If you want to strut the city's venues you'll need slacks and maybe a shirt to get into some of the bars in Hat Yai.
