Night Life In Koh SamuiKoh Samui, being a large island with an international airport, is well developed now. The nightlife centre is in Chaweng Beach where it's beer bar paradise, plonk down on a stool and enjoy the place. Outside of the Chaweng the nightlife is still pumping but less 'naughty' with beer bars being more subdued and low-key. Chaweng Beach It's getting a bit like Pattaya these days and the prices are comparable if not higher. Mojo Bar: A low-key, bamboo bar that is within an olde-style Thai building. Popular with backpackers, located next to the town school and is next door to the Buzztronic bar. LamaiFor nightlife, this place is pretty tame, apart from restaurants which sport the wooden 'cowboy theme' with live music you won't find any bars as such. Lamai's proximity to the ferry terminal is a bonus for many travelers and so there is some activity. Entertainment Venues - Koh SamuiThere are many live music venues in Koh Samui, every major town and some villages have at least one. A few discos in and around Koh Samui, almost all in Chaweng beach too. The one that most people, after hitting up the bars, go to is The Beach Tree. The big plus point is that it's very close to Chaweng and has plenty of BGs who go in after the bars shut. Koh Samui and Beyond...Koh Samui's place in the scheme of things is big business and real estate monikers and expats who are a bit too elitist and out-of-touch. That's one thing that means it's time for the roving traveler to move on and find somewhere else to roam to. Nightlore: Watch yourself riding back and forth on the main road. It is a highway (despite the other bypass one) and many farang have ended their days riding drunk and been side-swiped on the way home. |
